This was all the rage on talk radio and on the normal RW websites. I didn't see it mentioned here on DU. The Repubs at the Comey testimony had this ready to go - its legend and lore in RW world.
Basically a Putin aide said (sort of) that Hillary campaign people probably met or talked to Kysliak.

People associated with Hillary Clinton's campaign also met with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin's spokesman.
"Well, if you look at some people connected with Hillary Clinton during her campaign, you would probably see that [the Russian ambassador] had lots of meetings of that kind," Dmitry Peskov told CNN's Fareed Zakaria in an interview that aired Sunday.
Peskov said that none of the meetings between campaigns and Kislyak were about the election.

(30,481 posts)You would think Trump loves the Clintons considering how often his Trump humpers use her to excuse what he does. Happens so often it makes me wonder why they voted for someone who acts just like a Clinton.

(182,905 posts)That's why it didn't get much traction. Stinks of a trick and even if they did (which isn't that unusual) they didn't lie about it or get paid.

(182,905 posts)The Repubs thought this was a trump card (sorry) and DT even tweeted about it this morning.

You did it.
And while we're at it: Are they lies or are they leaks? Because they're not both.

(31,464 posts)Which begs the question; how on Earth does a private political organization hold sway over the FBI and dictate to them which investigations to undertake?

(63,225 posts)Exactly according to script.
The Trump chump scoffed at the idea that Clinton could have won 3M more votes than Trump but still lose the electoral college. I spelled it out in plain English, and he immediately shifted gears to claim that Clinton met with Russians.
I've had some rather bitter disagreements with people here on DU, but it's easy to forget just how crazy and devoted the Rightwing cult truly is. Horrifying to see it up close.

(24,438 posts)We have Sessions on record as lying about it. He even pre-emptively lied about it as he apparently hadn't even specifically been asked about it at first.

(22,399 posts)Wouldn't you expect a current or former Secretary of State to meeting with an ambassador? Would this be unusual?

(13,903 posts)Those contacts if they occurred do not make it more or less likely that the Trump campaigns contacts were collusion.
Which is the bullshit they are trying to spread here.

(182,905 posts)I just wanted DU to be aware of where that Repub talking point was coming from.

(11,489 posts)so they could leak all the damaging emails about her.
Or maybe she was colluding with them to release emails damaging to Trump in exchange for going soft on Russia sanctions and demanding NATO members contribute more to NATO.
Or maybe she was secretly negotiating to buy a stake in Rosneft, the Russian gas company.
Or course, none of those things actually happened on this side of the aisle.
