http://www.americablog.com/2012/06/dear-ftc-how-is-503-563-0339-permitted.htmlAnd if you Google the phone number, 503-563-0339, this particular phone spammer, who goes by the Caller ID "USF," has been complained about for months. Reportedly this spammer uses dozens of phone numbers to spam people's phones.
So how is it that they continue to get away with this when all of this information is public?

(103,856 posts)and buy a burner cell to give the number for..take the battery out..
Do not give the real phone number out to anyone but trusted family & friends.. use the cell to call others..
The one we have is a flat rate of $14.99 a month no messaging or call waiting..bare bones..
After I changed the number I got NO "odd" calls
Even if there is a charge to change it, it's worth it..
Kaiser was my phone-stalker..

(4,087 posts)I can block specific numbers from calling us. It's a feature that Qwest has, you might want to see if your phone company has a something similar. Ours can store up to 25 blocked numbers.
Good luck with this.

Otherwise, why not use the block feature most cells and landlines have?

(18,402 posts)that said "Easter Seals" on my caller ID. I thought it was fake, but I looked it up, and it was indeed a call center for Easter Seals! I called the number, yelled at them to remove my number from their list, and they said, "OK, but you'll probably just get them from another center; it's automatic." Indeed, I did. This went on incessantly from several different numbers for about a month.
I called the Attorney General's office in my state (since Easter Seal's national headquarters happens to be in my city). They said to write a formal letter with details. I composed it; then thought: before I send this, I'm going to give the national office a call. I explained to them the horrible hang-up calls their marketers were making and they were totally unmoved. "It's our annual campaign," they said, "and it's almost over, so you won't be getting those calls much longer." I was flabbergasted. I told them that I did not want the calls ever (they were completely nonplussed by the fact that the calls just hung up), and though I had made small donations in the past, all they'd accomplished was to turn me away from them forever.
Arghhhh.

(51,104 posts)File a complaint with the local BBS. Get other friends to do the same.
See if Easter Seals is associated with any other organizations in your area such as United Way and complain to them too. Repeatedly.
Complain to your Mayor and City Council people.
