We have the BEST democracy that money can buy. No debate over that. The U.S. is a scam...did I say that already?

I hate him but Ryan wasn't paid $120K.

The breakfast, according to an invitation, was sponsored by McGuireWoods PAC, the political action committee for the lobbying firm McGuireWoods. Blue Cross Blue Shield pays McGuireWoods $120,000 a year to lobby on changes to health reform, records show. Attendees of the event paid were asked to pitch in as much as $10,000.

"Great Benefit" was a big health insurance provider that had a secret policy of denying ALL claims over $5000 unless the patient went to court, had big pockets, high powered legal representation, and lived long enough.

If anyone wants a refresher course in how our HMOs imitate the worst that fiction can come up with, read (or re-read) John Grisham's "The Rainmaker." I swear, the fictitious evil, crooked health insurance company, "Great Benefit," provided the blueprints for many health insurers now operating in the USA. No wonder they are throwing money hand over fist at Republicans like Ryan. In their eyes, there is no better investment they can make.
