Trump Is the Conservative's Dream President

Despite Donald Trump being an abject idiot, the conservatives love him madly. Why? Because he will let them do all the things they've wanted to do for over 50 years. Trump has his own objectives, too, of course, but his real attraction to conservatives is that he will sign things they send him, as long as they give Trump a few things he wants. So, what is this likely to create? A nightmare for everyone but conservatives. Expect to see measures come out of Congress that:

1. Take the US almost completely out of the UN. This has been a goal since first envisioned by the John Birch Society.
2. Gut the federal government by eliminating or decimating most regulatory agencies and departments. Trump's on board with this.
3. Privatize as many federal government functions as possible.
4. Sell off as much federal property, including even our National Parks, to the highest bidders. This will reduce costs and reward the private sector with properties they can turn into massive profits.
5. Eliminate every "feel good" program, department and agency completely. Trump likes this idea very much, as do all conservatives and libertarians.
6. Convert many public amenities, like the Interstate Highway System, into profit-making private enterprises.
7. Make life miserable enough for the poor, people of color, disabled Americans, immigrants, non-Christians and others that they will either leave or die. This is a primary goal, but will be couched in Newspeak language to mask the intent.
8. Restrict access to healthcare and services for the elderly. They are a massive cost center, and the sooner they die, the more the federal government will save.
9. Increase funding for the military, including massive spending on things like the nuclear arsenal, aircraft, ships and other assets. This puts huge amounts of money into private industry, which will reward Congress with campaign funds and future income.
10. End all programs designed to help the poor, small farmers, Small business owners and other undesirable Americans. This is related to #7, but will specifically be aimed at providing opportunities for corporations to acquire additional assets at low costs.
11. Make home mortgages almost impossible to get for the average American. This will benefit real estate investors, who will be able to rent properties at increasing rates to those Americans who can no longer afford to buy homes.
12. Destroy our public school system by making it so bad that only the poor will send their children to it. This will promote an increase in private schools and set up an exclusive two-tier education system. This will help create a permanent underclass that can be exploited as an unskilled labor source.

There are many more ideas related to the goals of the conservatives and libertarians in our Congress. A complete list of those goals would take far too much space for a DU post. Please feel free to add them in replies to this post.

Thanks for reading.

We need to be as proactive as possible in working against these plans. If you can frighten a Republican into thinking he or she might lose in the next election, leverage that as much as possible.

..."a good Christian," who posted the following on Facebook the morning of November 9th.

"I want to thank God for delivering the president of my dreams."

I met her in October 2015, at a social gathering of former military pilots hosted by a longtime friend of my husband's from his time in Vietnam. Saw her again this October. Will likely see her this coming October, as this is an annual event. I don't even want to talk to her.

As an interesting aside, her husband looks exactly like Newt Gingrich. Thinks like him, too.

The above mentioned woman's husband does not look like Gingrich. That was another RWNJ couple. The "president of my dreams" woman's husband got kicked out of the Arizona Tea Party for being too conservative. That's quite an accomplishment.

Fortunately, at this gathering, there are 2 other couples who are on the progressive side of the fence, so we do have people I can talk to. The event takes place on Emerald Isle in north Carolina, so when things get too aggravating, I go for long walks on the beach and pick up shells.

They support the biggest asshole on the planet, a GOP plan to strip the government, a plan to take all civil rights back to the stone ages, a plan to take workers' rights back to the stone ages, and more greed and wealth transferred to the upper 1%. This is not what Jesus would want.

of wealth and power and influence into the hands of fewer and fewer. There's an increase in the wealth of people who tend to donate to and schmooz with 'elected' and appointed officials...and a decrease in the ability of middle and lower class to donate, mobilize, climb the ladder, challenge rulings, access decision makers. If we as the bottom 90% cross a tipping point in loss of power and voice (money is speech now), no matter the numbers, the top .1% will be a permanent class with ultimate power.

Rollerball.

know why the dems feel like they have to fight each new battle without recalling the big picture war re concentration of wealth and power into the hands of their chosen few. This should be mentioned as a prologue to every discussion, every day, every issue. What GOP position or legislation ISN'T about making the wealthy wealthier, ever? And even issues that aren't about money and finances are used as wedge issues to get voters to vote against their own interests.

So...it's fine to get into the policies, details, numbers, consequences, etc and that will reach people who are open to actual rational discussion...but without setting the stage with context and the GOP horrendous history of legislation, statements, positions, and overall message we are missing the forest for the trees and many won't hear.

Easy case to make.
