If a Democrat works with the Deplorables to dismantle the ACA should he or she be shunned?

has a real chance of passing Congress and getting signed into law. It's not going to happen with this Congress.

It presumes that the choices are work to dismantle or (as so many have said in the last couple of cays), doing nothing and making them "own" it.

We are talking about people's lives here - including my daughter. She, and the millions of others who depend on the ACA are not political footballs.

I want my Democratic Senator - and any other Democratic senator or representive actively fighting to preserve as much as can be preserved. Less bad is better than nothing - which may well be our choices - and it is morally reprehensible to advocate for nothing - so that the Republicans "own" it over advocating rolling up our sleeves, digging in, and preserving whatever we can - or opposing catastrosphic changes in favor of merely disastrous changes.

I am sick to death of seeing people on DU adovcate letting people die in the hope that it will put us in better shape for the next game kick-off - or worse, threatinging to blackmail Democratic lawmakers (with threats of primarying them) becuase they have a strong moral compass and choose to follow it to do what they can to save lives.
