Besides, it would be just another lie that no one believes. If he gets impeached, he will really arrange his businesses and properties in a trust run by his kids to keep them from getting fined and/or confiscated. The day after he gets the boot, he will flee to a country that has no extradition treaty with the US. Probably Russia. Which would be plenty OK with me just to see his back going out the door.

If you remember in 2006 when Democrats took Congress Nancy Pelosi said "impeachment was off the table". Also even if the Democrats took the Senate they couldn't get the 2/3s vote that is required for an impeachment conviction.

11. I'd take that bet.

First, the chances of a serious impeachment effort being launched are pretty low at the moment.

Second, he'll resign rather than be impeached if it ever appears that impeachment and conviction would be imminent.

Third, if he is impeached, the country will not be united. There will be 30 percent or so dead-enders that will believe he was framed.
