Nor does he care for that matter

As Republicans work to pitch their health care plan, House Speaker Paul Ryan said he cant say how many people would lose coverage under the new legislation -- and that it will be up to people to decide whether they want to purchase coverage.
Asked in an interview with CBS Face the Nation approximately how many people will lose coverage if the American Health Care Act is passed, Ryan replied: I cant answer that question. Its up to people.
Heres the premise of your question. Are you going to stop mandating people buy health insurance, Ryan said. People are going to do what they want to do with their lives because we believe in individual freedom in this country.
So the question is: Are we providing a system where people have access to health insurance if they choose to do so? he continued. And the answer is yes. But are we going to have some nice-looking spreadsheet that says, We, the government of the Americanthe United States, are going to make people buy something and therefore theyre all going to buy it? No.

(34,661 posts)Does anyone know the amount of Money given by Anthem Blue Cross and Cigna, which are reviving their 34 Billion dollar merger, gave to the Republican Politicians in order to drive a stake into Mr. Obama's signature Legislation. Remember, when the FTC said no way to this merger, the CEO of Anthem went on Bloomberg and Politely called Obama every name under the sun.
This is nothing more than a Destruction of any and all Democratic as well as Obama's Legacy. The Republican Party has promised their Wall Street Buddies major tax relief.

(10,252 posts)then switched to the moviie "Lord of the Flies." How ironic, yes? But Ryan is correct, we want to force people into socialized medicine, where everyone has medical healthcare. Young, old, men, women, sick, well. EVERYONE! Medicare for everyone. Take insurance companies completely out of the picture. They can sell other forms of insurance - home, car, boat, fire etc. To be paid with taxes. Taxes raised on the very rich, who are not currently paying their fair share.
And have you noticed how Republicans never ever ever squawk about how much of our GNP goes to the war machine? Ryan makes me want to puke. Such an arrogant asshole.
