The process of "normalization" continues...

As the White House staff continues to lie for their boss, the press goes along for the ride. It is more commonplace with each passing day.

There are more whispers about Democrats "over-playing" their hand against this President. They are falling into a trap, by attacking the Russians, they say.

And just look at that stock market! Consumer confidence is sky high. And did you see that latest jobs report! The unemployment rate is down to 4.7% ! The economy is doing very, very well, we are told.

Therefore, the President must be doing something right? If the Obama "leftovers" would stop wire-tapping his phone and let him do his job, he could get this country back on the right track...blah...blah...blah.

It was probably just a coincidence that Trump transition team was meeting with Russian officials? After all, politicians meet with foreign diplomats every day, don't you know?

Also, we need to remember that Donald Trump is a neophyte at politics. He hasn't been in politics very long. But the truth of the matter is that he has been involved in politics for more than 30 years, most of it buying and using politicians that could help him.

With each passing day, the media and the Republicans are attempting to make Donald Trump seem more "normal". The reality is that the total opposite is true. He has not changed. Only those that report on him have changed.

by a Putin-supporting writer at The Nation, which I don't read.

And nobody is buying the Obama wiretapped Trump line except the lost-causes.

I understand we have the majority. And we're all concentrated in blue states where when we turn on the TV, we watch Donald Trump do presidential things like ban immigrants and roll back environmental legislation. And if we visit a bookstore, a hiking trail or a Starbucks, we might see the popular vote winner relaxing quietly.

So keep telling us we won if it makes you feel better. I'll try to keep this in mind when Neil Gorsuch is appointed on the Supreme Court.

Trump won by the rules of the game by winning more electoral college votes than Clinton. To deny him legitimacy would be to deny the fabled American system of "free and fair elections".

Not to mention that quite a few in the ruing bourgeoisie are OK with him because they will be the winners under his economic nationalistic policies. Inertia and faith in the system plus a significant amount of wealth and power backing him, leaves all supporters of the system with little choice, but to back him.
