"Do you know whose strategy that was to cause that, to send those people out and get them slaughtered," Andrea Manafort supposedly wrote to her sister, referring to their father.
Andrea Manafort apparently told her sister that their father "knowingly" had people killed.
"He has no moral or legal compass," she added.
Eugenia Zakrevska, a human rights attorney representing the victims of the Kiev killings, submitted a motion on Thursday calling on prosecutors to look into whether the hacked texts are authentic.

(60,010 posts)The text messages of Paul Manaforts daughter Andrea Manafort have been hacked and released publicly. In one of them, she alleges that her father masterminded a strategy to send Ukrainian citizens out to protest, knowing that the police would mow them down. And she didnt mince words about it in a series of texts to her sister: You know he has killed people in Ukraine? Knowingly. Remember when there were all those deaths taking place. A while back. About a year ago. Revolts and what not.
This has prompted a Ukrainian human rights attorney to launch a probe into Paul Manaforts role in the death of those protesters, and hes asked Ukrainian government prosecutors to do the same. The government there has long wanted to charge Yanukovich himself for the deaths of the protesters, but thats been fruitless because hes been hiding in Russia since he was ousted from power. So now that Paul Manaforts own daughter has alleged that he was behind the plot to get the protesters killed, its not a surprise to see Ukraine going after Manafort.
Manafort is also under investigation in the United States by the FBI, both for the payments he allegedly took from the Kremlin while working for Yanukovich, and for the role he appears to have played in colluding with the Kremlin as part of the Trump-Russia scandal. CNN has the full report on the effort by Ukraine.

(28,795 posts)how much have we been talking about this? how much has the MSM been talking about this?
how much did US media axe trumpster about the obama/tap/tweet yesterday?
wtf is going ON with them?
anybody surprised that, once again, they fall for the shiny object, and ignore the myriad stories that actually have meaning?
what happened to DCReports' story about the oligarchs' connection, which Rachel broke, and was pretty much ignored, when compared to her not so much about the 2005 tax pages?
ironically, both came under the aegis of one of the only real journalists on the beat, DC Johnston
