Palin, who had lashed out on Twitter earlier in the day after the high courts decision by writing, Obama lies; freedom dies, suggested that the Republican Party should seize on the historic ruling to repeal the Affordable Care Act altogether.
Basically what Chief Justice [John] Roberts did for us, for the American people, was put this issue Obamacare and the individual mandate back into the hands of the people via our representatives, the former vice presidential candidate said. Congress has opportunity to act on this tax, as this has been deemed a tax as opposed to Obamas insistence it wasnt a tax. And after the July recess, I expect Congress to come in and rescind this tax.
I want to see that done in July.
The Supreme Court ruled that the presidents health care law was constitutional and that Congress had not overstepped its power by requiring almost all Americans to buy health insurance or pay a penalty. The decision said Congress has the authority to impose the individual mandate through its taxing power.
