Mondale should have wiped the floor with him. Detente and peaceful relations with the Soviet Union was the right policy.

Without the Reagan administration, things would have turned out differently in Afghanistan, that's for sure. I think the Middle East would be considerably less violent, too. The attacks on 9/11 would have been highly unlikely.

Today's repubes may say otherwise, but they obviously HATE Ronald Reagan and everything he stood for.

In particular, repubes are PISSING all over his warnings about Russia.

he seems like the last GOP who was against Russia. The two Bush's kept their attention on the Middle East more. Now I may be remembering wrong but that seems like what happened.
