Ryan: Healthcare failure could stall other GOP priorities

BY MAX GREENWOOD - 03/10/17 11:20 AM EST

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) on Friday warned GOP opponents of the party’s healthcare plan that the measure’s failure could derail progress on other key aspects of Republicans’ policy agenda.

In an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, Ryan said that a defeat of House Republicans’ bill repealing and replacing ObamaCare would be “momentum killing,” essentially having a domino effect on planned tax reform efforts, among other party goals.

“Think of legislation as one train track with a bunch of trains on the track,” Ryan said. “If you don’t get these trains through the system, it slows everything else down."

“So if we didn’t get this done in time, according to our schedule — and we’re planning five weeks over this, this is a five week process of passing this bill, which is fairly lengthy. It slows absolutely everything down, pushes tax reform off past the summer.”

More Americans will die as a DIRECT consequence of 15 million people losing health insurance than the combined toll of dead Americans from ALL past terror acts combined, and any conceivable future death toll added in as well. On the basis of that INCONTROVERTIBLE statistical comparison (see the data in the journals, studies, etc.), if the proposed policy changes are made to the ACA, the U.S. government will literally kill more U.S. citizens than all “overseas terrorists” combined could ever hope to kill here or anywhere. What an irony: the U.S. government itself killing more U.S. citizens than all terrorists combined.

And if we eat it, we'll all feel its effects.

Five weeks? Why five weeks? Got to get on with wrecking the rest of the country on a schedule?
