A Congressman has said..."The Poor Don't Want Healthcare..
see this link:

This statement sits in a room of hate and vile that is as low as one could possibly imagine....WHY????
......Very simple indeed..Here is why.............................
Poor people have children.. Most married people have children. It is part of the human deal..You know..babies, .. Now. this insensitive fucking jerk is saying..that poor people do not want health care so these so called "the Poor" according to him..don't want the best care for their babies and children..Because he says, "The Poor Don't Want Health care.".......his quote........think about that...
A mother and father, who just happen to be poor, don't care for the best for their children..They don't want health care for their children...Is that the stupidest, most awful thing, I have ever heard from a politician ..Oh wait..the ..is a doctor..from Kansas???
He is a piece of shit....He is the lowest form of human.,.and this stupid person has a name: Rep. Roger Marshall, (R-Kan.), a member of the GOP Doctors Caucus. and he is a "doctor"...probably the most insensitive and stupid doctor ever..

Here is what Mr Marshall said, (from the above link) :
Just like Jesus said, The poor will always be with us, Marshall said in response to a question about Medicaid, which expanded Obamacare to more than 30 states. There is a group of people that just dont want health care and arent going to take care of themselves.
He added that morally, spiritually, socially, the poor, including the homeless, just dont want health care.

(17,865 posts)Obviously they have been going through a budget crisis because of the insane tax elimination. One way they are trying to get funds back is have the school districts in the state pool themselves in negotiating healthcare savings. You know the entire state negotiating as a group - what a concept. That damn socialism.

(146,333 posts)During their early and mid adult years, they can be put to work for the enrichment of the ruling class. Without healthcare, of course, they will die at a younger age, relieving the ruling class of the responsibility of feeding them. Their children, at least the ones who are strong and healthy enough to survive childhood, will replace their parents as workers in due time. This cycle can be repeated again and again, providing a pool of workers whose needs can be completely ignored. There are plenty of poor workers to be exploited, and more are being created on a daily basis.
For people like that congressman, providing benefits to such poor workers and their offspring is counter-productive. That is especially true of healthcare. If the sick and sickly do not die, they must be fed and housed, so healthcare for the poor has negative consequences and interferes with enrichment.
This unspoken reality forms the foundation of the conservative oligarchy.

".... providing a pool of workers whose needs can be completely ignored. There are plenty of poor workers to be exploited, and more are being created on a daily basis.
I read about a poor fellow born in Kentucky, and eventually made his way to ..Illinois..self educated..and very bright...He became a President of the United States..I guess that this shithead from Kansas..would think that Lincoln did not care about taking care of his children..cause he was "the Poor"
An examination of underlying motives and assumptions is always enlightening.

(3,569 posts)And I love having healthcare. Or I'd be dead.
I am glad to be poor, dirt poor however. I won't have bills due after. Most people do.

(1,606 posts)The reality for poor americans being that they can't afford the bills in a profit-healthcare system, that's all.
What low income people actually mean when they say they don't want insurance or "healthcare" is they can't afford the bill.
It's not like they won't go to the doctor if it were covered. If this were a more civilized nation with single payer as one of our rights, this would be a non-issue.
But I digress. I know that Rep. Marshall is just using the usual bullshit propaganda to further the profiteering agenda of the industry. Not a surprise there, at all. What a scumbag.

(82,849 posts)Your exegesis is faulty, which has led you to a very poor conclusion, theologically speaking. If this is the best you can do, please leave off interpreting the Bible, and particularly leave off using the Bible as a crutch to support your selfish, greedy, insupportable conclusion.

The Republicans will use any tool, any tool that they think will sway their base.....be it the bible, the Constitution, or anything...... ... four key words..."selfish, greedy, insupportable conclusion.." Well said..
