Horse named President Trump gelded

By Costa Rolfe Tuesday at 6:31pm

After weeks of “refusing to focus on his work” (and likely getting distracted by the fillies he crossed paths with in his day to day life!), a chestnut colt named President Trump has been gelded.

South African trainer Justin Snaith elected to send the two-year-old son of Philanthropist for the “ultimate gear change” after becoming fed-up with the one-time colt’s flighty behaviour.

“President Trump was very vocal and would not focus on his work,” Snaith told the Racing Post.

“I found him to be extremely stubborn. I considered blinkers and a tongue-tie but he was so unmanageable that I had no option but to geld him.”

If only a few such gear changes could be applied to the real life chestnut entire currently inhabiting the big white barn in Washington DC!

President Trump the horse has apparently thrived since the snip, although according to his trainer is still “arrogant”.

On a totally unrelated note, in 1937 a despised outsider called The Trump won the Melbourne Cup at 100-1, proving something of a precursor to Trump's own upset 2016 election win.
