Billionaire behind Rainforest Cafe, Bubba Gump's: 'We can't afford' to give SF workers healthcare

Billionaire Tilman Fertitta, sole owner of Landry's Inc., a corporation responsible for a number of recognizable chain restaurants including Claim Jumper, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., Rainforest Cafe, and McCormick & Schmick's Seafood & Steaks, believes that San Francisco shouldn't mandate its restaurants to pay for city workers' healthcare.

In "Billion Dollar Buyer," a CNBC show in which the restaurateur stars, Fertitta says his businesses have to charge more for the same menu items because San Francisco requires some types of businesses to contribute to their workers' healthcare coverage.

"All these states now are doing their own mandates," Fertitta says. "Why should the city of San Francisco be able to do absolutely whatever they want to do?"

Every day people put up with this shit, we can expect to be treated like shit.

Nobody with that attitude should have a pot to piss in let alone a billion.

When will we wake up?

means he can't do absolutely whatever HE wants to do.

This is a mind that thinks he's more important than a huge city full of people.

I mean how important can you be if you can roll around in dollar bills and change them as needed.

It's not like he'll ever need to worry about a blood test bill or anything like that.

And if I'm in an area with a lot of restaurants, where BGSCs generally tend to be, they're the last place I would go. So that asshole won't get any of my business.

They want to be able to do whatever they please, but when other people, organizations or governments try to assert a little power, suddenly they start whining about the unfairness of it all. Suck it up you greedy piece of crap!
