She was also fighting with insurance companies to have her care paid for.
For someone who is stressed out by the illness itself, the stress of who will pay the bills has to be an extreme burden.
I hope and pray Republicans can never ruin the PPACA and Democrats can improve on it to the point where it can be the world model.

I don't blame the Prez for not understanding the exact details.
Per Wikipedia: Dunham's employer-provided health insurance covered most of the costs of her medical treatment, leaving her to pay the deductible and uncovered expenses, which came to several hundred dollars per month.[54] Her employer-provided disability insurance denied her claims for uncovered expenses because the insurance company said her cancer was a preexisting condition.[54]
