...there were no major media reports accusing Obama of ordering wiretapping, just the Breitbart conspiracy site and associates.
Breitbart spinning legitimate reporting on FISA warrants, putting out nonsense about Pres. Obama ordering them. Any Obama connection alleged is easily disproved, but that's never been a concern for these conservative publications. They're satisfied to use any vehicle for their propaganda which their readers accept without question - like Trump appears to have done.
WH Statement:

...Trump makes a desperate attempt to project his own predicament onto Pres. Obama, using a report from a source(s) which couldn't care less about the accuracy of their story(ies) which suggested the former president was orchestrating the investigation.
Interesting, though, if there was some sort of official source for Trump's accusations, there would be a huge question of WH interference in an investigation in which he or his associates may be involved. In fact it was reported yesterday that the WH was inquiring into the existence of the FISA warrant at the root of these false stories from Breitbart, a potential violation of power and authority.
As it stands, this defense by the Trump White House confirms that the President of the United States gave this conspiracy site and story the imprimatur of his high office and is looking to leverage that false report from Bannon's website into a congressional investigation.
