Help Talk Me Down, Guys!

I am getting really upset, angry, tearful, and in a rage that this group of criminals is trying to flip the Trump/ Russia scandal onto President Obama.

It makes almost sick to my stomach that Brightbart is considered creditbe "'media" and that many ignorant people will believe it.

Any ideas of how to cope?

Just kidding. Even here on DU people are wailing and gnashing their teeth about it. Threads abound about "they're getting away with it" and "Dems aren't fighting back enough."

Meh. We are not without defenders in Congress. We may be in the minority, but we're getting a surprisingly large number of Dem spokepeople on the boob toob lately.

If you can stand it, give your TV jones a rest for a day or so. The crises will still be here, sadly.

But remember, you're not alone.

These people are idiots and are already running for cover. Trump's spokesperson stating that she will let the President speak for himself is just the beginning.

Consider the fact that they can't push their agenda so long as these distractions are dominating the news cycles, and they seem to be endless.

The debt limit needs to be increased fairly soon too. Just imagine them having an actual problem to try and fix instead of just dealing with self inflicted wounds. Their incompetence should give you hope.

Do not underestimate Trump. This was calculated, I guarantee it. Their goal is not to successfully run our government, their goal is to plunge the country into chaos.

These people are not stupid! They are not desperate, they are not without a plan. Their goal just isn't a goal of a successful government or country.

and is just trying to blow smoke in everyone's eyes.

It is his characteristic way of trying to deal with things not going his way.

Also blaming the black man is a dog whistle to his white supremacists to step up support-but even that doesn't seem to be working.

How to cope: laugh and enjoy the fact Trump feels so threatened he has to resort to this tactic.

10. Yes, calm down and get a grip
Sun Mar 5, 2017, 12:45 PM

Stop freaking out. Calm down and get a grip. You are much more effective when you are calm with a clear and focused mind on what needs to be done, than when you are upset and filled with the negative emotions of fear and rage. What we need to do is win elections in 2018 and 2020. You can be a real hero if you get control of your mind and emotions and channel your energies into working in your local community to win local elections to throw Republicans OUT!

Do you know the difference between "I am angry and upset" versus "I am experiencing anger and anxiety?" You yourself are not "anger." That would imply that you personify anger and are always angry. Emotions only seem real in the moment. But they are temporary.

Do whatever you need to do to calm down and get into a balanced emotional state. Whether that is go for a walk, exercise, play with your kids, have sex, take a break from the news, or whatever works for you. We need you to help us fight in the resistance, but we need you calm and collected, not freaking out. You will also be happier and healthier if you calm down. Hope this helps!

Maintain calm awareness.

Be poised to shift stance quickly.

Don't fight fears or worries. Whenever fears and worries rush in to overwhelm you, just say to yourself "Oh, hi. You again." Then mentally in your mind open a window and let a breeze waft them away. Direct yourself to something that needs to be done, not as a distraction, but as a way to maintain progress forward.

We will survive. We will persist and persevere.

You, me, DU, Democrats, the USA, this beautiful world. We will persist and triumph together.

drumpf has plenty of henchmen and henchwomen to help disseminate his lies. drumpf is a desperate scoundrel and I believe he will be removed from office within a year. The best revenge will be the media's vigilance at pushing back with the truth. Hang in there 'cause change is coming!

Don't forget that Barack Obama is a master at multi-level chess.

I'm sure he had the ammunition before he left office because he saw what was coming.
Obama has the TRUMP card up his sleeve, and he's willing to play it.

The White House had the intel about Trump & Repubs playing footsie with Pootie, but Obama didn't release it because he didn't want to look like he was "playing politics" to influence the election. Now all that is over and Obama will just let it fly.

It's going to be a good show, too!

While it disgusts me that that asshole is attempting to leave his slimey, disgusting fingerprints on President Obama, never think that he won't handle the situation with the grace and style that signified his presidency.

Trump always implodes, he always looks a fool. He always fucks up.

Go to a rally, work with your local Democrats, find allies--even, get on Twitter--it's remarkably cathartic to tell Trump off. Or to spread the truth about him.

Draw your line in the sand. This is mine-if you support Trump, you are a bigot. There is no way around this, no weasel words, no justification no nothing. If you voted for Trump, you are a sexist. The people who voted for Trump thought it was ok to grab women by the p*ssy. Gender doesn't matter as there are plenty of women who are sick in the head.

None of this is right, none of it is normal, none of it is sustainable
