Steven Mnuchin, the “Collateral Beauty” producer and newly minted treasury secretary, wants a total crackdown on leaks to the media.

It’s funny how we know about this! From Reuters’ “Exclusive: Trump aides’ bid to plug leaks creates unease among some civil servants,” by Arshad Mohammed, Jonathan Landay, and Warren Strobel (emphasis mine):

President Donald Trump’s Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin used his first senior staff meeting last month to tell his new aides he would not tolerate leaks to the news media, sources familiar with the matter said.

Let's think about that one for a moment.......A discussion about "not tolerating leaks"...was leaked..

I understand that and I am struck by the contradiction of it. The leaks are going to continue. The people have been clever enough so far and they are determined as well.
