The author, Mem Fox, was detained in LAX and wrote about her experience. It is extremely disturbing that this is happening in our country and in our name. It should be on the front pages of all of our newspapers.

1. This has been happening for years

Especially since 9/11, but even before. Nothing new.

Coming back home to the US and going through customs has always been a nightmare. Sniffer dogs, stupid questions, fingerprinting, cavity searches, opening everything up and having my unmentionables pawed through, interrogations in special rooms while separated from my wife. I've been through it several times. I'm pretty sure I've even written about it here.

I'm a middle-aged, ordinary looking white guy for the record.
