Since everything is relative...

The poll numbers after Trump's highly-praised speech to Congress are also relative.

Even Democrats gave it high marks. But, Republicans were absolutely thrilled with his performance.

It is relative because it was much better than what anyone expected. Since most people were depressed and losing hope before the speech, it is only natural that they were surprised that Trump was able to make an entire speech from the monitor without wandering off the script. It's not a really big accomplishment. The words did not soar with inspiration.

But, because of the super low expectations, most people probably had high praise for the speech. I do not doubt that. It is all relative.

that even Trump can read a prepared speech from a teleprompter.

There was no substance, just a normal delivery instead of the usual jumbled, juvenile syntax we've come to expect.
