Nothing Is Going To Happen W/Sessions. With GOP In Charge Will Be Protected. They Are All In.

Hell the whole GOP is in on this mess. You have to think that the entire party commiserated with Trump on Russia. Otherwise why would they stonewall on the Russian issue? The whole election is rotten from top to bottom. Ryan and McConnell knew and even participated most likely.

We have and entire GOP criminal enterprise that we cannot do much about.

The Sessions news, I think, is the clincher. GOPers will be leaving the club and demanding an independent investigation, a resignation, and/or a recusal. Or all of the above.

Add up to everything the GOP has done over time. They obstructed for 8 years. Trashed Obama every single day. They now control the government and most states after really supporting an idiot for President. And they have been grandly rewarded in the end by a bunch of stupid voters.

Yes one hopes the press and public opinion will work. This country would be so much better had Democratic policies prevailed.

He will resign tomorrow, and it will just prove to the world that we must have a deep investigation into Russia/tRump. This completely delegitimizes anything that Chapped Ass says about not needing to investigate. It delegitimizes McConnell and Ryan.

Don't underestimate the press (newspapers especially who) to keep goading those in the Congress with a conscience to keep the fire lite for an investigation into trump and the Russians.

I'm not counting on Comey as he's probably in on it.

But it's not going away even though some seem to want it to.

If they really decide to ignore everyone there is not much voters can do. The GOP should have been deep fixed long ago. There are thousands of reasons they should have been trashed. Yet they still get power.

will have actually seen him commit perjury in the Senate confirmation hearing. You can't change or modify your answer a month later. You must completely and truthfully answer the question in the hearing, when it is asked.

that can be done to get rid of Trumpocracy and save our democracy. Such as it is. The whole GOP leadership seems to be in thrall to Putin's oligarchic kleptocracy. They love the whole idea.

Republican Senators don't like Trump and Sessions doesn't have many real friends.

More important they have been waiting patiently for an opportunity to "appear statesmanlike" and show independence while still "maintaining a basic air of fairness".

Senators don't want to answer questions about the Russian debacle every day and by agreeing to a special prosecutor or some other device they can say that "an official investigation is under way so I cannot comment".

It is also entirely possible that more than a couple may covet the office that would be open when Sessions is going to need to spend time with his family.

But it will come down to this: They will have to, on a daily basis, over and over again defend the indefensible: Trying to explain that Sessions didn't lie when he clearly did. Trump's greatest weakness is that he is completely devoid of patience and he will tire of the Sessions debacle when he can get rid of him with his two favourite words: "Your fired".
