Trenton -- New Jersey native Kellyanne Conway apologized Tuesday night following a daylong uproar from critics who took her to task for putting her feet on a couch in the Oval Office.
Conway, who grew up in South Jersey and currently serves as counselor to President Donald Trump, sparked a brouhaha on social media after images were released showing her kneeling on the coach inside the president's office.
Conway told Lou Dobbs on Fox Business she "certainly meant no disrespect."
"I was being asked to take a picture in a crowded room with the press behind us, and I was asked to take a certain angle," Conway said. "I certainly meant no disrespect, I didn't mean to have my feet on the couch."

(54 posts)If Michelle Obama had done it I guarantee no Democrat would be complaining about it.
My only criticism would be when she did it. Seemed kind of odd with all of those men standing around.
But, you are right. It should be everyone's least concern with this administration.
Who the fuck are you trying to kid.
That tramp is an additional disgrace to the peoples WH. If Michelle Obama was doing that the repute's would hammer for a week on the Fox noise machine.
They went batshit crazy with Michelle's bare arms. But not a mention of the stripper Melania.
Cute?? Get real.

(9,527 posts)I think this todo is equally stupid. Focus on things that actually matter. Focus on the forthcoming new and improved Muslim ban, focus on the fight over the ACA, etc.
People losing their mind of this type of thing don't come across as credible. If everything the Trump administration does is the worst thing ever, why should anybody listen to the same rant over the 27th thing? Perhaps you've heard about the boy who cried wolf?

(2,434 posts)If a man did it would you call it "cute"? It is not only un-cute; it is boorish and disrespectful of OUR furniture. I do not consider this petty. It is indicative of the attitude these people have toward OUR house and OUR money.
dancePop
(54 posts)But I thought it was nice how President Obama would put his feet up on his desk.
None of it matters though. IMO, it's stupid for anyone to even comment on it.

(28,343 posts)Obama eh?
Funny how you seem to speak about Democrats almost like they are some kind of "other." It's just kind of an odd quirk, I guess?
Of course, we (Democrats, that is) know that Michelle Obama has far too much class, dignity, grace, respect and simple hospitality to behave the way your "cute" little Smellyanne did in the Oval Office.

(53,410 posts)First of all Michelle Obama never did that. Never would. Especially not in Our House.
Maybe you should invite Banshee Barbie to your house so she can walk all over your furniture.

(53,074 posts)hate crimes, efforts to destroy the EPA and federal funding agencies. I care about Trump's connections to Russian interference in our elections. How Kellyanne sits or what Trump's family wears to congressional speeches doesn't rank on my list of concerns. I'm not going to object to every minuscule thing just because it's a Republican doing it. I'll leave it for others to decide what they think based on the party of the person involved rather than the action. I prefer to maintain some consistent standards in what I object to.

(65,227 posts)That said, her job is to take phone pictures in the Oval Office. She doesn't have a staff or they don't have a staff photographer to do those types of things. An advisor and spokesperson has to take off her shoes and kneel on the couch to take picture of the event?
And she's ok with that?

ProfessorGAC
(65,227 posts)First, i agree with you. The whole "government" as business is stupid because the government is not meant to be run as a business. There is no profit motive and there are things that need to be done without regard to the return on investment. (Defense being a glaring example.)
Now, what you forgot is that he is not a good businessman. He had 4 companies fail and declared bankruptcy, using a twist in the law to get out from under crushing debt caused by his mismanagement and lack of strategic planning.
He also inherited nearly $400 million which if just put in an array of index funds would have resulted in an average personal discretionary income of $30 million per year and an ending balance of roughly $1 billion more than he has.
His business "savvy" is so profound that he could have lived a life of opulence and still had an extra billion had he done NOTHING.

(35,454 posts)Why was she the one taking the pics?
See my post directly above your post. I'm thinking that too. She's ok with being the "girl Friday", now? "Hey Kellyanne, you don't do anything important anyway, why don't you take some snapshots."

(11,936 posts)And this "lack of respect for guests", "abuse of privilege" stuff is nonsense. God I hate that woman. But her doing that to get an angle for a picture she was asked to take is not a big deal. Anyone pretending otherwise is either being disingenuous or just asinine.
