John Schindler on generals' faces last night, Trump's exploitation of Ryan Owens's widow

Much of his anger had started earlier, understandably, with Trump shifting the blame for the SEAL's death to his generals:

http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/trump-yemen-raid-fatality-235517

“This was a mission that was started before I got here,” Trump told Fox News in an interview from the White House broadcast Tuesday. “This was something that was, you know, just — they wanted to do. And they came to see me. They explained what they wanted to do, the generals, who are very respected.”

Trump veered into effusive praise for his generals, calling them “the most respected that we’ve had in many decades” before pinning Owens’ death on the them.

“They lost Ryan,” the president said.

I agree completely with what Schindler tweeted later. And I'd also noticed the expressions on the Joint Chiefs' faces.

Snr Chief Owens' widow...for God's sake leave this poor woman alone. Trump gloating, of course...talking the Bible.

Anybody who saw the faces of the Joint Chiefs tonight when the cam hit them knows exactly what the US military thinks of Trump.

Soon after posting that, he retweeted this, from Jason Bainbridge:

@20committee I like to call it resting military coup face

Check out the photo there. And I saw unhappier expressions on their faces at other times.

More from Schindler:

If watching POTUS publicly exploit S/Chief Owens' grieving widow didn't make your skin crawl, I worry about you -- as an American & a human.

So "the generals" got S/Chief Owens killed, but let's spotlight his widow on live TV. Has Stockholm Syndrome overtaken the whole country?

are serial wife (or women) abusers so they both have a lifetime of experience at psychological abuse... and the press, after being called liars and "enemies of the people" are reacting just like an abused spouse when the abuser is "nice" to them after a month of abuse and blame.

This is not new, most USA people get their news from their preferred TV station, and many of those will fight for their TV heroes...try to say something negative about O'Reilly or Hannity and you will be faced with aggression. Bannon, Ryan, and all those crooks know that, which is the main reason they go out there and lie because like Trump said, he can shoot someone on 5th avenue and won't loose support, people will find excuses for the murder.

After all the vitriol and hate Trump showed during the campaign, there were still people thinking that he would become a different person once in office...how has that turned out?

but so discouraging to go to bed at night and no one has acted and wake up the next day and no one has acted. I can see what trump is destroying, I see his incompetence, I see that his connection to Russia needs to be investigated and his connection to his business should have been severed months ago, but hasn't been. But no one in the government does much except complain. The press seems to have rolled over.

The trump supporters don't see a problem with the government. They don't see a problem with the reversal of immigration policies, civil rights protections for minorities and LGBT. They don't see any problems because they get the benefit of the policies.

I didn't accept that Bush was a legitimate president, and I never will. With the Russian interference, the unanswered questions, I won't accept trump. But it looks like our elected* representatives accept damaged goods to run the country and the unelected advisors that direct him.

DON'T remember any Stockholm Syndrome when the Kenyan, Marxist, Muslim was in the White House most recently the past 8 years. In fact, going back to when Jimmy Carter was President, I don't recall such a thing happening. Isn't tRumputin STILL looking for the Presidents Birth Certificate, even as the newly installed president of the USA?

But no, Stockholm Syndrome never happens during Democratic Presidents administrations--it ONLY happens when thuglicans are voted in or installed into the Oval Office

To intimate that a navy seal, a valiant patriot, that you sent to his death is smiling down from heaven...
you know... DEAD,
is happy because you have used his name and his widow's grief to garner applause.... BIGLY, is beyond sick.

And this... THIS brought a tear to your eye, Van Jones? You are dead to me too.

Generals, do your duty. I am beginning think that only you can save us from this orange menace.

My new Senator from California. She's progressive and also joined the Women's march in Washington on the day after the inauguration. She did a great job as Attorney General under Jerry Brown and before that she was the District Attorney in San Francisco.

Their body language screams discomfort.

I noticed it immediately last night, too, even though the camera wasn't on them for long.

Clearly visible.

The poor widow manipulation was also a shameful nightmare. 45 should go directly to Hell for that alone.
