General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsSweet Jesus.. Rachel Ive been on your ass for 18 months..
Tonight I apologize ......You have just been tremendous tonight, on the MNSBC post Trump discussion..
Brian Williams... Useless and dumb.. but has a great voice....Eugene Williams a nice guy who never wants to Rock the Boat...Useless......Chris Mathews? always 3 minutes behind the conversation..
BUT Rachel? She never let any comment supportive of Trump slide through the panel.. She was a fucking Tiger and was at her best when that Idiot Hugh Hewitt tried to explain that Trump was really talking about how the Seals were really talking about losing one of their own...and that Trump really wasnt referring to how the Military Commanders and Obama are responsible.
Man she nailed Hewitt, to the point that Hugh shook his head and said I guess Rachel we have to agree that we disagree
Fuck Me....Rachel, I owe you a drink. you are the best in the business now on pushing back Republican bullshit!
Please Rachel, if I have one piece of criticism towards you...Please dont treat anything you do as entertainment...I know MSNBC execs.. expect this of you, but please.. our planet is at risk due to Trumps insanity...Please..Dont treat what you do as entertainment.. Its Life or Death.

(1,934 posts)now I think she sets the scene for the punch lines so well.
A superb journalist who can present the"whole picture" and that is a pretty unique talent.

(81,519 posts)And as for Hugh Hewitt, BARF! He's so damn SMUG with a superior attitude like I've never seen before in my entire 63 years. I can't even watch him. Had to hit the mute button. I do that every time he comes on.

WTF?????
is there ANYbody outside Fox that comes close to be as completely unwatchable as she? how much did MSNBC pay her to pollute the electronic spectrum?
as for Rachel, that Monday night show should go down in history as one of the best, most revelatory dot-connectors ever. if that web of traitors/manipulators is followed to its logical conclusion, she'll go down as the heiress to Woodstein.
if you did't see it, it's on youtube
if you want to apply the flesh to which she hung the structure/bone-scaffolding upon, try this:

deutschebank to Vekselberg to Rybolovlev ross to Trump, not necessarily in that order, as it's a web, not a straight line......essential reading
Nation writer and author of the above needs to be making lots of appearances on TV before he succumbs to a rare tea poisoning or VX inhaler accident

(81,519 posts)I saw Rachel Monday night - man-oh-man...
Friday night's show was a humdinger, too.
I've been out all afternoon, and just coming home to the Jeff Sessions update.

ecstatic
(32,734 posts)perfect for people with short attention spans. The best part is, as drawn out as her intros are, she makes sure to get it all out before the first commercial break. That's crucial for when I'm forcing friends and family members to at least watch the main point.

(2,172 posts)One of the best I have ever seen. We are truly lucky to have someone who diligently researches her presentations and delivers the information with gusto. She is one of a kind.

(28,349 posts)fully grasps, or at least has a fair understanding of that "whole picture".
One of the reasons I love the DVR is the ability to rewind to grab a piece of information that seems important.
Or, how many times while reading I will scroll back to find a pertinent piece if info.
She makes sure we grasp those dots she's connecting for us.
She makes a good teacher. The only thing that bothers me is (for the lack of a better word) the (nervous) giggles. Some things are just not funny.

(23,310 posts)I'm an intelligent adult. I can get the point the first time, and it's almost insulting to have her restating it *OVER and OVER...* ONCE is ENOUGH, ferf*cksake, Rachel! Twice is okay, I can deal with it. But more than that, with the antics and "teenybopper giggle"--CAN IT!
I agree she has a good story to tell, with a lot of sometimes complex details to fill in, but jeeeez--treat me like an adult, not a fourteen-year-old! (I get enough of that from my parents!)

(11,686 posts)It is Chris Mathews that drives me nuts. He always interrupts and never lets anyone finish a thought. I am still trying figure out if he actually said something good about Trump.....was that my imagination? Rachel may go on and on at the beginning of her show but she teaches those of us who are not history buffs what is going on. She does well for me to help me understand better because I have a learning disability that messes with comprehension and she makes it clear.

(3,363 posts)This month was her highest viewership ever at 2.3 million. I think she's the highest rated on MSNBC, and maybe the highest rated in that time slot of any network.

(1,151 posts)MSNBC is corporate right but they're using those three as fig leaves. I bet a progressive network built around them and Keith Olbermann would rake in the cash, unless the advertisers actively try to fuck with them.
Hell they could go YouTube and podcasting and bypass trad media altogether.

(1,474 posts)She is the best journalist I have seen in watching journalism for 40+ years.
My only complaint is that MSNBC has turned into a network that values ratings much more than quality journalism.
I have not watched MSNBC since pre-election love fest of Morning Joe and Trump. I lost all respect for MSNBC at that time. It is because of pseudo-journalism like MSNBC did that we have an idiot for president.
But, DAMN! I miss me some Rachel Maddow.
