Obama Smells Like A Winner

Regardless of how you feel about Health Care (or Insurance) Reform, a large part of what has held many Americans back in their support of Obama has been the question of whether the ACA was constitutional, or an abusive power grab. The Tea Party rage will continue (can anything stop the Tea Party from raging?), but the Centrist confusion is over. The question has been answered. Health Care Reform - love it or hate it - is certified A1 legitimate.

Now consider what would have happened if the court had ruled against the President, right at the midpoint of the election cycle. Obama is already facing a money juggernaut. With the added smell of blood in the air, the Republicans would have been on him like vultures after road kill. For the next three months we would have been inundated by the repetition of a single message - "Barack Obama is a Loser." That message would have come at us in a multitude of flavors, but in all cases the meal would have been served with the same contemptuous sneer. With that much doubt and failure firmly tattooed to the president's hind end, Mitt Romney would have sealed his bid for the White House with very little effort. I've no doubt that an ACA failure today would have brought a GOP success come November.

But that's no longer a concern, because now Obama's mantel piece legislation, the pride of his Presidency, has been fully authenticated by a solid majority on the Supreme Court, with the help of a very conservative Chief Justice. We all are aware of, or at least learning the minute details of the decision, but it's the big picture that I'm jazzed about. It's a simple concept. Whether you're for or against "Obamacare," and whether Obama is your dream candidate, or just the lesser of two evils, he's no longer in danger of being branded with the worst insult Americans can manage - "Loser."

Today, Obama smells like a winner, and my guess is that today an election was won.

and loses twice - 1st, comes the ACA ruling - in and of itself, a huge victory for Obama.

2nd comes the media storm...that should have circled around the Holder vote.
