Who needs NOAA or the EPA?
Climate change is a hoax

(1,299 posts)For as long as they've kept records in Chicago we've never - until now - gone January AND February without 1 inch of snow. And tonight we've had reportedly at least one fatality in Ottawa in 8 (so far) reported area tornadoes tonight.

(21,646 posts)air coming in at times and causing instability that can lead to tornados . I am really not sure how that works but
Look at the normal high vs recorded for the area 2017 February and check out the snow pack
I mentioned last weekend I planned to trim some trees before tornado season Pfffft

(65,180 posts)One was an EF-2. Last Feb also had one in eastern PA. Not a good trend.

(29,722 posts)Tornadoes are very rare here. We are the top of a hill so it should be an interesting night.

(65,213 posts)Everything went around us. A small town about 3 miles west and 12 miles south got hit lightly and that piece hit a town about 12 miles east and 3 miles south later.
Then a place a few miles north but 30+ miles west got pounded (Ottawa, IL) and that piece hit ares north and east of that.
We had maybe(!) an inch of rain but stuff south, west, north and east of us got hit by actual tornadoes.
Got lucky.
