I had a Maltese that would drag her butt across the carpet when her glands got blocked.

The vet showed me how to do it: latex glove, tissue in the palm, find it just at the bottom of the tail, hold breath, little pinch, voila! Happy dog. No big deal.

You can feel when they're full: Like hard grapes. They release quickly, and stink like all hell. Less than once a month or so. Dog is so happy, cause they really itch.
