Sure, because that provision is all that's in the 2700 page bill. JoePhilly Jun 2012 #4
Do you deny that provision is the one that's causing most of the conflict? Fumesucker Jun 2012 #11

It prevents us from having a civilized health care system.

I expect we should have something better.

I would rather pay the penalty fee if it means that will help somebody else who wants it will get it. I don't go to doctors and don't want insurance. If somebody can be helped by my money, that is good. I am old but not old enough for Medicare. If I die, well, so be it. My choice.

but I'm not thrilled either. I won't be happy until the insurance companies are totally out of the health care business.

I am now, by law, forced to pay for insurance, from a company who's sole purpose is to provide for me as little care as possible, for as much money as it can collect. A company that will sit and debate whether it would be more profitable to allow me much needed expensive medical care or to let me drop dead so their bottom line looks better at the end of the quarter.

A big thank you to the politicians and to the people who support this. It's like a dream come true.

And I think it is very pathetic that this is the best we can do, a supposed great country, for health care for the people, when other countries have non-profit government backed health care available for all their citizens.

Its disgusting that we look at health care as just another profit making industry in this country. It should be non-profit and run by the government as a human right, not as a way to make money.

I'm just resigned that our country is backwards beyond belief, and this affirms that.
