I Can't Watch The SOTU Speech Without Destroying My TV. It Would Put Me In A Rage.

We more or less know what to expect from this shit hole. So why bother. Plus watching the GOP or even listening is ever worse. The GOP is just as dangerous as he is and they are just a nuts. The country will be a wreck with them in charge if we cannot stop them.

Even watching any on them brings out the darkest of wishes in me. I hate all of them with a passion for what they have done and what they will do.

BELIEVE ME folks if you were able to see from my perspective all that they have done you would all NEED A BOX OF TRANQS. I worked at DOL for 24 years and I saw so many things that the public is not even aware of. The GOP with the help of the Koch types and the business community has so totally fucked the working people it is not even funny.

I'll check in here, and at CNN and MSNBC, but I will mute any news report that shows extended clips.

BTW, hubby is convinced the Mad King will not be able to read the teleprompter for 60 whole minutes, but will spin out of control and begin to rant at Congress, thus alienating the GOP.

(1) He'll go off-script and start using his own words;
(2) He'll somehow manage to stay on-script and use his little nazi buddy Stephen Miller's words.

Shit sandwich or shit hot dog. And to think MSNBC has promised all-day coverage of it. Sounds like a good day for a root canal.

If you are, could you do it mockingly? Please? I'm afraid it's the only way I could stomach it. It makes me angry just to read about him. Even making fun doesn't always help.

If that would be too difficult (and I can see how it would) just a warning in your subject line would help. I'm trying to stay healthy through all of this. The maggot is literally making America sick. I want us all to wake up stronger on the other side of this nightmare.

Live blog or not, you really are brave.

Speaking from personal experience, these have been user tested and used successfully in my household since the Bush years. Extra satisfaction is achieved if you have pets.

If you don't have pets, then go pull all the folded socks out of every sock drawer and keep them close at hand. Save them for hurling at the most egregious words; rolled up socks make a satisfying "thunk" against the TV.

Buy large packages of small Nerf Balls or fuzzy toy mice to throw at the TV... dogs and cats love chasing 'em.

We tried various food items in the past, but the cleanup diminished the gratification, however, kibble or little pet treats hit the screen with a fulfilling "plink", and your pets will do amusing antics hunting down the tasty tidbits so its a big win-win.

A x? great aunt of mine was Laodicea "Dicey" Langston who fought the British and the Tories in her own way.

During the Revolutionary War, Dicey spied on the Loyalists to assist the defence of her community of Patriots. At 15, she heard that the Loyalist group 'Bloody Scouts' were preparing to attack the Elder Settlement at Little Eden, South Carolina. She travelled 5 miles on foot to deliver this message to her brother at the site, by crossing the swollen Tyger River,[note 1] for the community to be evacuated.[1][2][3][4] Dicey also defended her disabled father, Solomon Langson, when their home was attacked by the group on another occasion, by standing between their weapons and her father. Admiring her bravery, they did not harm her or her father.[3][5][6] There are many tales of her challenging groups of Loyalists and defiantly refusing to answer their questions reportedly saying: “Shoot me if you dare. I will not tell you”[3][5]

In 1783 she married Thomas Springfield, they had reportedly met years earlier when he had collected a musket from Dicey's home and refused to sign for it. She had then turned the gun on him and dared him to take it without signing.

People who cannot fight can spy, protect others from the enemy, provide supplies, and many other things. I would do any of those things, including fight for my country by bearing arms if need be!

what bullshit and lies will be spewed. I know how infuriating it is especially to those of us who are aware of even a "barely scratching the surface" amount of details, on just how much the GOP and Koch types have fully fucked us over. It's really maddening if ya let it get to you. It's hard not to be enraged, as any person with a conscience should be.

I share your sentiments.

His voice is what pisses me off most, so I borrow a trick from Oliver Sacks' aphasic patients. He described a group who didn't have receptive verbal anguage (or lacked tonal receptivity) watching Ronald Reagan speak, and rolling with laughter. They were perceiving his body language while everyone else was focused on the words. So I use that trick. I turn off the sound, watch the body language, and either read the transcript or the closed captions.
