"I'm not whining, I'm fighting back against the destruction I see happening around me."

"You know what I love? People who tell me "I put up with 8 years of
Obama, so you need to stop whining about Trump". Yeah, here's the thing,
you bitched and lied about Obama while he was pulling our economy back
from the brink, and saving jobs, and trying to make sure everyone could
pay for healthcare, and chasing the actual bad guy terrorists, and
protecting civil rights so everyone could live with dignity, among many
other things. While you tried to convince people that he wasn't born in
this country, he worked for everyone. While you claimed he was a secret
Muslim (and what the hell is that about anyway), he worked for everyone.
While you called him and his wife and children names, he worked for
everyone. He did it with grace, intelligence, and respect for everyone.
So, don't think I'm going to shut up because your guy won the election.
This isn't a game, this is people's lives. I'm not whining, I'm fighting
back against the destruction I see happening around me."

We are frightened by the things this putrid party have wanted to do for decades and are moving steadily towards doing. They were scared of things that he never claimed he was going to do. Perfect example is the gun issue.

That. And right. It's not about equal time. It's about people and their lives.

The opposing party did not "get over it" - they were adamant that the winner was only "technically" president and had no mandate. Indeed, those opponents argued that any initiative taken by an administration lacking that stamp of consensus was illegitimate so anything done in that administration should be reversed. It was fair game to attack it constantly, patriotic even, to bring it down and clear the path for a new administration with real legitimacy.

That was 1992, starting the day after election day.
