(9,901 posts)This is why too many people sit at home thinking there is no real choice, therefore have no motivation to vote.
This is how we end up with the likes of Trump in the White House.

(68,703 posts)We live in the age of United and until we get back in power and change that...we can't starve our candidates. That was never a good idea anyway.

(368 posts)Is the problem that we're not bringing in enough or that we're not spending it correctly? (Giving to consultants instead of state parties)

(7,188 posts)Someone should have read the resolution, as the discussion didn't really mesh with these words.
Legitimate concerns about trade unions and "good" corporations - were heard, but response by Pelosi was frustration not okay, let me explain by reading the words.

(2,461 posts)I do understand that the wording of the resolution needs to be looked at - for instance, is it clear that groups such as Labor Unions or rights organizations would fall under the No PAC money ban. Hopefully (happening now!) the new executive will take a good hard look at implementing or not the resolution and regain some integrity for the party

(2,461 posts)The resolution to ban money was denied, so DWS's rescinding of Obama's ban stands. The new committee can decide whether to adopt it or not - and can alter it to be as narrow or wide an interpretation of 'corporate' as it sees fit. Fingers crossed for Ellison.

(16,104 posts)and that voting "No" on Resolution 33 would allow that revised version proceed in a more expeditious manner today?

(2,461 posts)I've given up you guys. So sad. Guess 2nd ballot ... oh damn - who's kidding who? The Democratic Party is dead as of today.

(146,336 posts)won't be continuing to work hard on party activities and GOTV efforts any longer. That's a pity. And we'll certainly miss you at party meetings, I'm certain. Too bad that you've given up. But then, I see you are a Canadian, so maybe it won't matter all that much to our U.S. politics...

(2,461 posts)But as a neighbour and progressive and human on this planet, I was so hoping your country would be able to see beyound the bullshit of corporatism and start representing real people, which is, after all, all of us.
I haven't given up on all the good people of the world. I will adamantly support any peoples anywhere that see injustice in a broken economic system that is straggling peoples the world all over.
Deeply sad, but hopeful for the future.
Ellison may be successful in Tulsi's old job.
Hope you haven't all been sold out is all.
