Dem Reps should hold town halls in Repub districts where Repubs don't show up

Here's an idea...if a Repub Representative refuses to host a town hall in their district, the DNC should send a Dem who represents the nearest blue district to host a town hall in that cowardly Repub's district.

If a Repub senator also refuses to host a town hall, a Dem rep from that state should host a statewide town hall in that cowardly Repub's place.

who intend to run AGAINST the chicken shits.

Call it "ALT-TOWN HALL" since everyone is grooving on that "ALT" shit, lately. Invite the whole damn district, left, right and middle. Do it well in advance and ask for RSVPs--get email addresses and send them their "ticket" that way.

Answer all questions bluntly and honestly. Tell 'em how we'd do it.

I think it's a winner, particularly if they have cold water for the thirsty and some light, peppy music while people are waiting for the event to get underway.

It's a really good idea....

Make sure that you send this to somebody in the Democratic party that can act upon it. It might also be worth putting it up in GD as its own thread.

It can be a combination of "Alt Town Hall", embarassing the Republicans, connecting with the voters, sussing out candidate attractiveness early, infrastructure build, and voter registration (amongst a load of other things).

At a townhall I attended a couple days ago, there was a Dem challenger in attendence who did stand up and give his position on the ACA.

(I doubt if mine does. SC.) the chairman of the state Democratic Party of some other in-state Dem can show up.

To give credit where it's due, Sen. Tim Scott did have an old-timey in person town hall in Charleston.

Every district. I wonder if some of these people in red areas have ever even heard from a Democrat directly, as opposed to the picture painted on FOX News.

Time to start competing for some of these seats.

I wouldn't necessarily send a congresscritter to do a town hall out of their district.

However, if there's another level Democrat (Senator, state level, etc) who represents that state/district then by all means yes.

In my district, I have a GOP congressman who refuses to do one (he doesn't even live in the state). However, I have two Democratic senators, and if one of them did one in his place, that would be acceptable.

Send this idea to whomever wins the DNC election today, or to someone who can get the word out.

I'm sending this idea to Tammy Baldwin in Wisconsin.

There are Republicans who want these town hall meetings also. If the Democratic leaders are the only ones willing to show to answer even the Republican peoples questions for some of them it might make them realize that Democrats are more with it than they thought. I am not saying that would happen on a big scale but It just might work a little. Just my thought.
