Trump is at the podium at CPAC and the cameras pan the audience from
time to time and they are looking at the asshole with their mouths gaping
and their eyes wide open as if he were a rock star. It's hard to believe they
could assemble that many stupid people in one room to listen to this clown
ramble on and on and still not say anything meaningful.

(31,121 posts)White American christians, most, not all, are horrible people and cant wait to exact tremendous pain and death on all they hate.
Personally, I am hoping they get a reaction. But that wont do any good either, the fascists are in control of everything.
Too bad the non patriot GOP doesnt care that Putin stole the election. Wow, I thought they were patriots, guess not.

The biggest responses seemed to be for 2nd and Amendment and Law Enforcement. I smell the NRA.

(8,854 posts)...starting a thread about something but I'll just comment on it here. Sometimes it seems to me that over the past forty years or so cult recruitment techniques have been perfected, refined and implemented stealthily on a mass scale. I seem to remember that years ago people were extremely wary of something like Amway and anyone associated with it, and now it's practically mainstream. They even have their own arena. And, of course, there's Betsy DeVos. It just seems that there was a time when people in cults were a relatively small number of damaged and vulnerable people and now it seems as though there are a number of massive cults operating in this country: Amway, Scientology, Trump-supporting Republicans...

(3,231 posts)Great minds!
I have a friend who tried to recruit us and I read up a LOT on Amway. They have so many mandatory events. It a grift. The top people make their money on merch and attendance. That's why there are so many of these conservative conventions.
I was in Vegas and happened upon a MLM convention. I think it was Rodan and Fields. My god the stuff they were carrying around. Besides buying all the product, I'm sure the speakers made some money off that convention as well.
Slate ran an article this week about MLMs expecting to thrive under trump.
