Romney: ‘Time For American People To Make A Choice’

Mitt Romney called the 2012 election a referendum on President Obama’s health care law in a statement responding to the Supreme Court’s ruling upholding health care reform Thursday. Without the court to intervene, Romney said the American people now have to “make a choice.”

And so this is now a time for the American people to make a choice. You can choose whether you want to have a larger and larger government, more and more intrusive in your life separating you and your doctor, whether you’re comfortable with more deficits…or whether instead you want to return to a time when the American people will have their own choice in health care, where consumers will be able to make their choices as to what kind of health insurance they want.

2. His Reaganite memes don't even match reality.

Government spending has slowed DOWN under President Obama.

In single payer, Government FUNDS, not RUNS, the health care system. The consumer actually gets MORE freedom of choice under single payer than they do with the current for-profit system.

Even if "Obamacare" (as the loons call it) stays in place, our health system is STILL run by the parasitic insurance industry. It's not like we have anything remotely resembling Europe's, Scandanavia's and Canada's systems.

There are some conservatives who are starting to see the sensibility of single payer.
