Conway To Town Hall Protesters: 'Come Up With Your Own Solutions'

Conway To Town Hall Protesters: 'Come Up With Your Own Solutions'

By ESME CRIBB Published FEBRUARY 23, 2017, 10:32 AM EDT

White House senior adviser Kellyanne Conway said on Thursday that protesters should come up with their "own solutions" to questions raised at town halls held by Republican members of Congress.

"Protesting is covered under the First Amendment. That's all fine. But come up with your own solutions," Conway said on "Fox and Friends."

She blamed "a combination of people" for the large crowds and vocal criticism Republican lawmakers have faced at town halls and public events.

"Some people are upset with an election result they didn't see coming," she said. "You see people who are concerned about the swiftness of change, and I think that you've got some members heeding that call and taking their questions. I just don't hear a lot of solutions."

Her job is to flack, in one direction only. Even acknowledging a different viewpoint as legit is grounds for her boss to expel her: out the door or through the window.

We don't make the laws... that's what we PAY our Representatives for. That's why we are angry and want them to provide leadership solutions that don't ...you know... kill us.

So Conway...I see you used your little detention/vacation in the basement of the White House for some refection and soul searching.
Having found no soul... you're at it again with your stupid pronouncements.

They kept her off long enough for someone to write about her absence. And then viola! she's there. They do the same thing with news stories they don't want to talk about. Refuse to comment, then when story comes out, say it's inaccurate.

The same principles apply here. I read a politico story about her freeze out on Tuesday and I said to myself "she'll be back on the air within 24 hours." That's pretty much what happened.

Sadly I was hoping she had been muzzled, but I should have known better. Long before she was with Trump, I saw her on Bill Maher's show and she was just as insufferable then. I was looking forward to the day when I would never see her face or hear that voice again.

There are predictable patterns throughout this administration. Even Trump's unpredictable behavior has become predictable.

Maybe post White House Kellyanne can start a club with Sarah Palin and reminisce about their glory days.

In effect for some years now, but here's the basic refresher:

Rule #1: Don't get sick
Rule #2: If Rule # 1 somehow fails and you do get sick, die quickly

Simple, straightforward, low budget, and as Kellyanne suggests, coming up with one's own solutions.

We hire them via voting and we pay them via our taxes. Usually, this works to ensure the government comes up with solutions which resolve what the majority of people want.

When employees get out of control and don't do the job they're supposed to do, we fire them. Usually after an angry talking-to, which is what the protests and the town halls are.

~ paper ballots
~ term limits
~ redraw district lines fairly
~ a progressive tax structure
~ shore up Social Security by raising the cap - also, the US govt could pay back what it's borrowed -
~ medicare for all
~ fair trade, not free trade

So, how much of the above will the GOP work on? Squat.

30. Ah, a page from Mayor Daley's playbook

The classics. Richard Daley was mayor of Chicago during some very turbulent times in the 1960s and 1970s. The 1968 Democratic Convention and Chicago Police Riot occurred on his watch. One of Mayor Daley's favorite tactics whenever someone confronted him about some deficiency in his governance, his first response was almost always, "Well, what's your plan? Where is your solution?"

It worked pretty good sometimes, mostly because a solution wasn't really possible because the damage was still ongoing. "Slow down." No, you wanted the other pedal. "Hit the brakes!" Oops, now we've gone off the cliff. "Bail out!"

"You said we needed to slow down." Yeah, but that was before we plowed through that crowd of people, went off the cliff, and crashed in the canyon. It's a bit late to talk of slowing down now.
