They can be dangerous. Truly.
It's something to think about for those considering putting lots and lots of people in desperate situations.
It can be a dangerous world out there...

(146,331 posts)I've been watching some of the Republican town-hall style meetings, and have clearly noticed some of them, like Mitch McConnell looking amused that people are complaining. His patronizing attitude, when faced by people who are clearly worried about their future is very disturbing to me. He clearly does not care, so why does he even hold these events?
I guess I'm thinking of a person who has a terminal illness and has learned that no further treatment will be given, since he no longer has insurance. Or a parent of a child with an illness that could be treated and will not be, due to not having insurance. Those are the kinds of desperation I'm envisioning.
Not everyone is capable of accepting injustices. Some people want to respond in ways that express their anger at a system that doesn't meet their needs in any way. Such people sometimes act out violently.
If I were Mitch McConnell, for example, I'd wipe that patronizing grin off my face when facing a crowd of angry constituents. Really, I would. I'd also listen to their concerns and try to have some empathy.

They sure have mastered the art of deflection.
