(21,088 posts)NEW YORK He was found just before 7 a.m. on Election Day, lying on the floor of the Russian Consulate on the Upper East Side.
The man was unconscious and unresponsive, with an unidentified head wound blunt force trauma, in cop parlance. By the time emergency responders reached him, he was dead.
Initial reports said the nameless man had plunged to his death from the roof of the consulate. As journalists rushed to the scene, consular officials quickly changed the narrative. The anonymous man had not fallen dozens of feet from the roof of the consular building, they said, but rather had suffered a heart attack in the security office, and died.
By the time the mans body left the morgue the next day, Donald J. Trump was president-elect of the United States. It was the culmination of a sensational, bitterly divisive political campaign that US intelligence agencies would later say Russia actively sought to manipulate and skew in Trumps favor. With the election results, the world had turned upside down, and the death of the man at the consulate quickly faded from view.

(129,459 posts)IMHO, Putin is about to go into Ukraine big time and he's paving the way in the Security Council. I am sure that Nikki Haley has been given her marching orders.

Which is all the more reason we need to get his compromised ass out of the presidency his whole Russian-affiliated crew for that matter.
HTF did our country come to this?
Never mind, don't tell, I know Comey, Putin, vote suppression, etc.
I blame the repug party too for not vetting this clown. 16 effin candidates and none of them had sense enough to do decent oppo research on trump.
Jeb Bush had plenty of money to do it, and should have been chomping at the bit to do after the way trump kept punking him during the primaries, and little Mario too for that matter.

(63,922 posts)stunning how corrupt and scandalous they are and with all these illegal events going on. Putin is just going ahead with his own agenda while we are distracted by other things. We will be incapacitated to do anything against Russia, and Putin is just sitting back watching how our country is slowing deteriorating.

(12,676 posts)But in light of the current political events and Russian "fingerprints" found behind destabilizing nationalist efforts all over the world there's going to be a high amount of suspicion and concern as to "why now", "what's going on", and "what is being covered up"?

(12,676 posts)It is also suspiciously natural for a Russian male. That's what's so frustrating.
If counting the previous deaths, this is still only a 70/30 chance of being a political clean-up, which is not a straightforward A=B supposition. More like a C = A + 2 or B + 1 equation.
So we still need to be cautious when connecting the dots.
