That's what the SCOTUS called it ... Constitutional under the Federal government's taxing authority.

Now ... a responsible media (yeah, I know!!!) would note the little discussed fact that the ACA will have exactly no effect on anyone currently receiving health insurance through their employer ... and upon my last reading, that group makes up about 85+% of the working population.

And you only pay the tax if you choose to not have insurance. And you get subsidies or even an exemption if you can't afford it.
And Medicare has been expanded to help those who can't afford it.

7. My premiums will NOT be going to the IRS. They will go directly to the ins co.

And yep, the subsidies or expanded Medicaid (NOT MEDICARE) will be what finally allows me to buy insurance again.

I get that you don't like the ACA; but why make sh!t up?

The "tax" goes to the federal government and pays for the expansion of Medicare ... and Medicaid, had the SCOTUS not struck that part.
