Theres a reason Roberts was confirmed easily by the Senate Dems whereas they fought like hell against Alito. I guess this is the reason.

So whether or not cons and repubs say nasty things about him (and yeah, the Freepers have started already, no surprise there - eg "Benedict Arnold" , it needn't matter much to him - only if he had contemplated retiring early and cashing in with partnerships, directorships, speech circuit etc. And realistically, there'll still be plenty of that available to him if he wants.
