It really frustrates Trump's supporters that other do not see the greatness that they see. Particularly, the guy who salutes a cardboard cutout of Trump every day.

MELBOURNE, Fla. Many of President Trumps most dedicated supporters the sort who waited for hours in the Florida sun this weekend for his first post-inauguration campaign rally say their lives changed on election night. Suddenly they felt like their views were actually respected and in the majority.
But less than one month into Trumps term, many of his supporters say they once again feel under attack perhaps even more so than before.

It was a common sentiment at the rally in an airplane hangar here, flanked by Air Force One and attended by about 9,000 people. There were chants of CNN sucks! and Tell the truth! A pre-rally speaker gleefully announced that the president had given the media a spanking.

It was hilarious to see him give it to the media, said Tony Lopez, 28, a car dealer who drove to the rally from Orlando. The medias problem is that they keep wanting to make up stories so that he looks bad. It doesnt work. Hes talking right through you guys.

(51,004 posts)It seems like the guy who prays to Dolt45 was clearly a plant. He had a speech written on his phone when he was spontaneously asked to speak.
And there were ads in local papers offering cash prizes to those who went.
So how many of those people really do feel the way they are being described, I wonder?

(4,515 posts)they probably wouldn't choose someone who looks like he'd slept in his clothes for a month and openly admits to having, and better still, talking to a 6 foot tall cut out of Trump.
Trump wanted a kiss, but why does the Secret Service have to put up with this nonsense? Their lives are on the line too.

(7,581 posts)I think we are seeing the flaws in our constitution. A renegade President, supported by his own party in both houses, and no Truth in Media laws, can destroy this country. A minority, BTW, about 35%, with a majority of Republican Congress gerrymandered in. I am so tired of fighting the red staters and their bigotry, fear, hatred of facts and ignorance. And don't expect McCain to ride in on his white horse and save our democracy: he has voted with Trump 94% of the time. He talks a great game, but puts party before country.
I do think that we are headed to two separate countries or federations; we are already in a cold civil war. The blue states will band together to value healthcare for all, education, ingenuity, healthy environments, energy independence. The red states will put God in schools, no healthcare, no money in education, guns for all, and Jesus in every household. There should be a time to allow those who want to move to the other group of states time to immigrate.
I'm so glad I live in a blue state.

She said she stays informed by listening to Hannity and Fox news. I bet she supported all of the costly and over done investigations about Benghazi!
They seem pretty shallow (which makes sense considering who they support!). I almost wish I could just have a brain of fluff and could not think and question things. Those people seem pretty happy these days.

(7,581 posts)It is the "blacks" fault, now the "immigrants," Muslims will take over this country and put me "in a burka." (Yeah, right.) They don't go to college, or trade school, the electricians' union my son belongs to is desperate for young people No interest. They take off when they don't feel like going to work, quit jobs when they get pissed at anything, take off hunting weeks, have no ambition to improve. The smart kids go to college and never come back.
If we ever did separate into blue and red states, I dont' know what they would do. Same think with places like Ohio and Florida. Let them go the way of the red states. They seem to want to. Sad.

(3,910 posts)Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity. Hate destroys a man's sense of values and his objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful as ugly and the ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true with the false and the false with the true. Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice. Justice at its best is love correcting everything that stands against love.

THIS "illusion" and the fact that it even exists, despite the fact of his 40+ year history of illegalities, is why many of us blame the media as well. They promoted him for ratings (as Les Moonves proclaimed) and he provided the show.
Problem is he is now running the country... and "performing for a television" and running the country as President of the United States, are 2 totally different things.

(9,670 posts)They're victims when they're not in power. They're victims when they're IN power.
They're the victims of reverse discrimination. They're victims because Christianity is under attack. They're victims because Christmas is under attack.
They're victims because lazy people get all their tax money. They're victims because they're scared of the "enemy" that a Democrat would never protect them from. They're victims because, well, brown people. They're victims because the Democrats want to take away their guns.
Come to think of it, their victimhood is all imagined.
Except for one veritable truth: they're the victims of their own echo chamber's brainwashing techniques, which have been perpetrated upon them for decade after decade. They believe this shit because they've been conditioned to doubt reality and believe the propaganda.

(22,976 posts)This is what kills me. There could not be a more creepy, ugly, loudmouthed, uncouth, ill-mannered, IGNORANT asshole in the entire U.S., and likely beyond.
What kind of psychic blinders/filters do they possess that they do NOT perceive this jabbering, spray-tanned shit-gibbon as he really is: a madman. How in the world can they be okay with this?
They answer, sadly, must be that they're completely deluded, in a cult-like way. Most galling, they say that WE'RE the crazy ones! We've definitely entered new and dangerous territory, where truth and reality are malleable and up for grabs.
Every day it's the same: I wake up, think about what I have to do, and Trump is still there, wreaking havoc on reality and sanity (his and ours). If I hear about his goddamned delusional "electoral college landslide" one more time, I'm going to blow a gasket. It's a clusterfuck for the ages.
