Acquired Bushmaster Firearms International, from Windham, Maine native Dick Dyke for an undisclosed sum in April 2006, and purchased Remington Arms in April 2007. Under Cerberus direction, Bushmaster Firearms acquired Cobb Manufacturing, a manufacturer of large-caliber tactical rifles in August 2007. Cerberus also acquired DPMS Panther Arms December 14, 2007.[70][71] Remington Arms acquired Marlin Firearms in January 2008.[72][73] In October 2009, Remington Military products acquired silencer manufacturer Advanced Armament Corporation.[74] These companies were combined into the Freedom Group. Cerberus made plans to sell its share in the Freedom Group on December 18, 2012, after the Bushmaster AR-15 was used in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.[20] This decision was made due to a threat by the board of the California state teachers' pension plan, which owns a stake in the company, to dispose of stakes it holds in any firearms manufacturer that makes weapons banned by California state law. In March 2014, Cerberus rejected a $1 billion buyout offer for Freedom Group.

Stephen Feinberg, chief of Cerberus.

Yet Mr. Feinberg hasn’t been interviewed and he hasn’t been photographed. Feinberg has been described as “secretive” in the New York Times. In 2007, Feinberg told Cerberus shareholders, “If anyone at Cerberus has his picture in the paper and a picture of his apartment, we will do more than fire that person. We will kill him. The jail sentence will be worth it.”

Cerebus Capital Management owns Dyncorp, the private data collection agency for the alphabet spy agencies. (CIA, DHS, NSA, FBI, DEA, etc.). Cerberus bought Dynacorp for $1.5 billion in 2006. (Source)

DynCorp is one of the three preeminent private mercenary corporations in the world, and is the dominant entity for training security forces in the Middle East. Herbert “Pug” Winokur a lead investor and creator of DynCorp—he was CEO from 1987 to 1991—and previously chaired the finance committee at Enron, where he somehow escaped the scrutiny of federal prosecutors.

DynCorp was also involved in child sex trafficking as well.

Brilliant CEO. Need a picture of this guy. He's scared of us knowing who he is. Let's start a fund me site for the photographers.

I see why he doesn't want a photo out there. News media, new one please.

It's still a creepy comment that should have never been said for print.

they would kill the employee. Not if they had a picture of him, although I'd say that probably would get the same result.

The men of the private equity generation want no such thing. "We try to hide religiously," explained Steven Feinberg, the CEO of a takeover firm called Cerberus Capital Management that recently drove one of its targets into bankruptcy after saddling it with $2.3 billion in debt. "If anyone at Cerberus has his picture in the paper and a picture of his apartment, we will do more than fire that person," Feinberg told shareholders in 2007. "We will kill him. The jail sentence will be worth it."

Things that stand out for me:

Cerberus Capital Management, L.P. is an American private equity firm,[1] specializing in "distressed investing".[2] The firm is based in New York City, and run by Steve Feinberg, who co-founded Cerberus in 1992 with William L. Richter, who currently serves as a senior managing director. The firm has affiliate and/or advisory offices in the United States, Europe and Asia[3]

Dan Quayle, former Vice President of the United States 1989–1993, who served with former President George H. W. Bush, joined Cerberus in 1999 and is chairman of the company's Global Investments Division.

<SNIP>

On June 23, 2016, GE announced a sale of its consumer finance business, GE Money Bank, to an affiliate of Cerberus Capital Management.

On December 17, 2015, Cerberus Capital Management announced a $605 million strategic partnership with Avon Products, Inc.. According to terms of the agreement, Cerberus will be buying 80% of Avon North America. In addition, the investment will result in a nearly 17% stake in Avon Products, Inc.

Feinberg, the head, is also somehow associated with Blackwater:

Big Gun’s Big Fail
A secretive Manhattan billionaire’s dreams of creating America’s foremost firearms empire.

By Stephen Witt November 15, 2016

Before he went into the gun business, before he started buying assault-rifle manufacturers, before he expanded into scopes and silencers, before he rolled up 18 of America’s most lethal companies into a single conglomerate, before he funded a private military base, before the massacre, before the investor revolt, before the recalls and the product defects and the bad press and the lawsuits — before any of that could happen — Stephen Feinberg, the billionaire financier, had to perfect his shooting technique. So one weekend in late 2005, he left behind the Manhattan offices of Cerberus Capital, the private-equity firm he’d founded, and his multistory Upper East Side residence, which he was in the process of spending $15 million to renovate, and traveled to Moyock, North Carolina, to the tactical-training facilities of Blackwater, the notorious private military contractor, for a weekend of long-range-firearms instruction.
