I saw somebody quote that here on DU, but I thought it was just that poster, before the press conference, making a joke about the kind of stupid thing Trump would say.

He will not upset Trump in the least, and the Japanese press goes on about how good the relationship between Trump and Abe is/will be.

Japan (and South Korea) is in an extremely delicate position vis a vis the rising assertiveness of China, and Japan is entirely dependent on the US for the cornerstone of its defense.

Abe will not put Japan in jeopardy for petty spite.
