Fake "grassroots" pro-Trump rallies Breitbart's hyping are the day before Trump addresses Congress

When I posted about this yesterday I'd forgotten the 2/28 date of that planned address, which the WH has been fairly quiet about since it was announced a couple of weeks ago -- possibly because they don't want Trump's opponents focusing on that date.

Josh Barro suggested weeks ago, before any date was set for the address, that progressive rallies the day before the address might rattle Trump enough to throw him off message.

Apparently that's occurred to Bannon, too, judging by the date chosen for the first of two pro-Trump "Spirit of America" protests planned for the same week, Monday 2/27 and Saturday 3/4.

I did finally find, buried in some of what I read about the rallies, a note that 2/27 is supposed to be the anniversary of the start of the Tea Party movement in 2009. I've seen a number of other dates given for that, didn't recognize that one.

I think it's more significant that neither the Breitbart article nor the website pushing the rallies refers to Trump's address to a joint session of Congress on 2/28. No exhortations to "show your support for the President before he addresses Congress" even though you'd think that would be important to them. But of course any mention of that timing would also be noticed by progressives.

So Bannon, via Breitbart, is apparently trying to gin up a pep rally for Trump, to bolster his confidence (and GOP support for him) before his big speech, before progressives can organize any rallies that could very well dwarf the pro-Trump rallies and dominate news coverage on the 27th and 28th.
