God-bothering windbag Bryan Fischer (below right) has a history of attacking Christian evangelicals who are just not quite Christian or evangelical enough so it makes sense that he would be unimpressed Donald Trumps Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch (above) for attending a church that is not as rabidly homophobic as he would like.

Gorsuch attends a liberal church, St. Johns Episcopal Church in Boulder, Colorado.
The New York Times notes that the Episcopal Church has become LGBT-affirming over the past several years, blessing same-sex marriages and ordaining LGBT clergy.
The church has also ordains women priests, is concerned about environmental issues and opposes discrimination against people of other faiths.

(53,961 posts)..yet, I still wasn't a car!
Good for him attending a church which is open and welcoming, and by all accounts, quite liberal. However, the church is not being considered for the SC appointment and the person who is has shown himself to be quite conservative.
Personally, some of the recent articles I am seeing about him seem like an attempt at gas lighting those on the left.

(5,499 posts)Try to make him appear moderate. But these people who want to narrowly define the constitution drive me nuts. That was never it's original intent. If it had been, it would have ended up being a much larger document.
We all know what's coming if he is confirmed. Back to a mostly 5- 4 conservative court with everyone forced to argue to Kennedy.
RG should have retired early in Obama's second term. And we should have fought harder for Garland. That would have neutered Kennedy.
But I'm all for not filling a seat until 2021.

(5,270 posts)My well-educated successful relatives became Repubs when income taxes on their million $$ salaries went up under Clinton Admin. They became Fox cult members, irrational haters of Clinton and Obama and all Democrats, Islamaphobes and now apologists and defenders of the incompetent corrupt Trump and gang..
But they are OK with women priests, begrudgingly tolerant of gay rights and limited environmentalism (except they refuse to believe any global warming is caused by fossil fuel burning) and love Gorsuch ,whose record indicates he will defend corporations and religious bigots over rights of affected individuals.

(5,730 posts)...bottom line is taxes, pocket book, but they see "both sides" of social issues (really don't care too much, unless it costs money, and most do). They hated Clintons and Obama and ,yep, Foxaganda is their GoTo. The whole private school bit, which funnels into the ivy league, is the norm for that class, so Betty DeVoss makes perfect sense. They don't really know, or care, about the nuances of government, unless it is a really big issue or directly impacts their lives. At least Gorsuch is a lot better than the evangelicals.
