Trump took every county north of West Point and made big in roads into the NYC areas. If Trump is still in office in 2018, he will own NYC.

(9,030 posts)so many of these people are just opportunists. How else to explain elected Dems going over to the GOP?

County politics often skews republican. Has for years.
Making Election Day a national holiday would go along way to change that. Give working class folks time off to vote and the republicans would hear the true voice of the people!

(2,297 posts)Without Manhattan and Brooklyn, NYS is not very impressive. It is the money that matters, not the votes.
Manhattan and Brooklyn were nearly 90% for Hillary. Would have been closer to 99% if Bernie had never been born.
I know a lot of people that were all in for Bernie. You wants to know who was for Trump? The strange guy on the bus with hair growing out of every hole, carrying 3 shopping bags, that smells like cheese. Sure outside of Manhattan and and Brooklyn, he got the cops and firemen, but how much money are they ever going to put into a campaign? In 8 years, I have actually seen Obama's motorcade coming from fundraisers on 95th st (huge donor) at least twice a year.
