Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsSo far, I think we could have done far, far worse than Gorsuch.
Listening to opinions on NPR, he seems to be a stickler with the law and not inclined to make decisions according to his own personal bias.
Hope I'm right.

(6,139 posts)I think that he is not worse than Scalia. Scalia was known to be virulently homophobic and spare no words. Gorsuch appears to be pricipled so maybe he will defend the constitution?
Scalia was hardline ideologue, an extention os social gonservative wing of the rep party. He would bent the meaning of constitution to suit his needs.
Emunlument clause violation may come into play and reach SC.
In either case, no win situation for dems. They'll go nuclear if needed. Since they will confirm him one way or another, it might be wise for dems to play slong and use their laverage for something else?
At least trump base will see that dems are not like repubs, they follow the constitution?

(1,499 posts)In Hobby Lobby v Sebelius when it came through the 10th Circuit . . . not to back off from the bullshit right wing reasoning but to say the court should have gone even further.
Just because he looks good next to an inhuman monster like Pryor doesn't make him "pretty." MSM including NPR just trying to make Democrats look bad.
