Donald Trump ran on a promise to protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid - But his cabinet nominees - Rep. Tom Price and Rep. Mick Mulvaney - are intent on destroying them.
We just created an important new ad highlighting this blatant hypocrisy; and we need it to run this week in the states of Senate Finance Committee members before they vote on Trump's horrific nominees.
In their recent Senate Finance Committee hearings, Tom Price reinforced his support for cutting Medicare's budget by $449 billion and Medicaid by $1 trillion.
And Mick Mulvaney explicitly endorsed raising the Social Security retirement age to 70.
Putting these men in charge of the departments of Health and Human Services and the Office of Management and Budget is dangerous to the millions of individuals who rely on Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid every day to survive.
We need to show the people who voted for Donald Trump that he lied to them.
The Senate Finance Committee will likely vote on these nominees by next week.
Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), Chuck Grassley (R-Indiana), Mike Crapo (R-Idaho), Pat Roberts (R-Kansas), Mike Enzi (R-WY), John Cornyn (R-TX), John Thune (R-SD), Richard Burr (R-NC), Johnny Jackson (R-GA), Rob Portman (R-OH), Pat Toomey (R-PA), Dean Heller (R-NV), Tim Scott (R-SC), and Bill Cassidy (R-LA) could each be the decisive vote.
WE NEED TO GET THIS AD IN FRONT OF PEOPLE IN THOSE STATES SO THAT THESE SENATORS KNOW THEIR CONSTITUENTS ARE WATCHING
NO ONE VOTED TO DESTROY SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE, AND MEDICAID.
YET THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT DONALD TRUMP'S NOMINEES ARE INTENT ON DOING.
