John Schindler: "Yesterday's WH recasting of the NSC...amounts to a coup" + more, tweets

Schindler is a national security expert who's appeared on Lawrence O'Donnell's show.

I now have no doubt that Trump will cause a full-blown constitutional crisis. Bannon may actually want one. Be careful what you wish for...

Yesterday's WH recasting of the NSC, letting Flynn+Bannon run it WITHOUT DoD+IC, really amounts to a coup, at least in #natsec terms.

I do not use the "c-word" casually. Congress needs to start asking questions RIGHT NOW, and #GOP must support that.

Also, DoD+IC need to prepare for illegal & unconstitutional orders soon to be emanating from Trump's KrazyKult NSC.

Remember what Ollie North -- 1 O5 -- did to Reagan's NSC? Trump's NSC principals are a table full of Ollie Norths.

Feinstein in a thread earlier this week, only the second time I've ever had a post removed in the fourteen years I've been on here. Just because I criticized one Dem's vote on a particular issue does not at all mean that I'm against Dems, not in the least. I'm hoping and praying that they can help stop this madness and save us and I'm heartened so far by the actions of Franken, Murphy and several Dem governors and AGs. The enemy of my enemy is my friend..... But this guy is not really our friend, he is not stable and he works for Jared Kushner. Doesn't mean he is not right on this one thing. I re-tweeted Bill Kristol twice last week on Russia stuff. He is still a blowhard and wrong about everything else, but I know who he is and understand his motivations. This guy, not so much....

So is Kushner pushing back against Bannon? That is a WAY more interesting thing than a discredited NSA guy saying things we like on Twitter. Or are they running another game on our heads?

People on the left really have to look at sources too. It's not just the right that is manipulated by fake news.

On edit:

Kushner IS Jewish. Bannon, although not overtly antisemitic himself, does represent and appease a full-blown neo Nazi faction in his white nationalist coalition. The press release Bannon wrote on Holocaust Remembrance Day that omits all mention of Jews was a direct wink and a smile and the Nazis in his coalition. Smart Jews would see that and be afraid.

It's not an either/or proposition. This guy who just tweeted had a serious career which he lost as a result of taking, texting and/or tweeting pictures of his junk. Why would a guy who's career depends on keeping secrets do such a thing? Also, the pic on this twitter shows him drinking. And his face shows the ravage. Not as bad as Bannon's, but it is there. You don't need to be Sherlock Holmes to connect the dots.

It is what it is. Doesn't mean he's not right, but he's not a fully legit source either.

Sun Jan 29, 2017, 03:01 PM
Jan 2017

From MedicineNet.com:

The American entertainer of vaudeville and the movies, W.C. Fields (1880-1946), had rosacea with rhinophyma (ryno-fee-ma).

If it is not effectively treated, rosacea can cause rhinophyma (literally, growth of the nose). With rhinophyma, the nose is bulbous, enlarged and red and there may also be thick bumps on the lower half of the nose and nearby on the cheeks. Rhinophyma occurs mainly in men.

W.C. Fields' lifestyle -- he had a well-earned reputation for imbibing -- did not cause his rosacea but it probably didn't help much. Avoiding food and drink (such as alcoholic beverages) that cause flushing of the face is recommended in rosacea to help minimize the enlargement of blood vessels in the skin that is part of the condition.

As odious as Bannon is, he deserves the same reserve regarding a medical condition as anyone else.

his sexist and racist political stance which appears to be compensating for something, the small scabs scattered around his face, and a penchant for not shaving - it's a reasonable possibility that he is alcoholic. And given his position of power and the harm that he could do, I think it's a valid topic for discussion. Mental illness is also a medical condition. That doesn't let Trump off the hook.

It is a distraction. Everyone is running around all worried about the ban, while the real action is going on almost unnoticed - Trump/Bannon are taking over the government in a coup. Congress is silent - both Repubs and Dems. Trump is making himself a Fascist Dictator and Congress and the courts are silent - or worrying about the refugee ban.

He kicked the Chairman of the JCS and the Head of the NIC off the Security Council!!!! He (well, Bannon) overruled the Dept of Homeland Security about 'what the EO meant' regardless of what it actually 'said'!!!! They are doing what they want, when they want, without input from Congress, Courts, other Depts, even their own lawyers.

This is not just aberrant behavior, this is an attempt to demolish our Democracy in favor of Trump/Bannon being an absolute dictator.
