Anyone else having to do Facebook cleanup these days?

I have a bunch of people on my Facebook that are expressing political fatigue on my Facebook (not of my posts, but from their own newsfeed from others). It seems people are really tired of the political division.

I, personally, don't see too much because 8 months ago, I went and unfollowed all the right wing sites. This past week, I decided that I just was not going to tolerate any RW bullshit when people post their opinions. I don't post my political beliefs so I expect them to do the same. Not in this environment. My newsfeed is usually great. But this past week, I started seeing some crazy posts. So I went about deleting a bunch of people. Got rid of some lurkers as well. I normally don't delete people for having different political views. But I find myself more intolerant of RW crap now. I don't even want to know those people. Rome is burning down because of these assholes. I am done.

Anyone else having to do some major Facebook cleanup?

Including family.

If they were just RW, I left them on but anybody who is nuts or posting obvious lies was removed.

Luckily, all my family are pretty liberal. If they are conservative, they certainly don't show it. Maybe out of fear. They would be incredibly outnumbered in my clan.

Deleted both brothers in the summer. One was trying to get people to kill Muslims and both are batshit crazy. I've lived here 8 years and neither knows how to get here, so it was no big loss. My father Has also burned his bridges with me, but for a different reason. I also deleted about 30 people that were spreading hate and fake news.
I have zero regrets about any of it. My family was a bunch of crappy people anyway and the drama in my life went to 0%. You do what you have to do.

from my life completely. No more facebook after facebook started habitually banning moderate muslims and ex-muslim posters that are progressive voices, many of whom risk their lives to speak out and leave islam in their native theocracies. I was finally like f this. Then I briefly started a twitter but spent all the time arguing with tantrum throwing Sanders supporters and Stein voters. I realized it was going to give me a heartattack so I shut that down too.

... and their occasional nonsense wouldn't rise to the top of my newsfeed. We still remained friends (family actually).

I only have 30 FB friends, almost all family. The few others are liberal friends. Being from Louisiana, I have a dozen family members who are idiot followers of fake news. I used to keep quiet and just hide their nonsense. I'm now replying to every deluded post with an explanation of why they're wrong. If the only result is that they STFU, I'll be happy. They can fume, but they can't really harm me. I'm the family matriarch after my 94-year-old mother. And she's on my side. 🙂
